Recruiting Challenges
Fifty-six per cent of Canadian CFOs surveyed said it's somewhat or very challenging to find skilled candidates for professional-level positions today. Forty per cent of executives also cited maintaining employee morale and productivity as an additional challenge when hiring and managing staff.

"Canadian CFOs are very confident about business growth moving into the next six months as they focus on maintaining and growing their teams," said Greg Scileppi, president of Robert Half, International Staffing Operations. "Demand for talented professionals is high while companies seek to quickly identify and fill employee skills gaps in order to keep pace with evolving industry trends and business demands."

As hiring challenges persist, companies need to move quickly in order to secure skilled candidates, added Scileppi. "Executives should regularly review their overall hiring strategy to ensure employment offers are competitive and flexible enough to adapt to changing compensation trends and employee needs."

Business Confidence
According to the Professional Employment Forecast, Canadian CFOs are optimistic about their company's growth. One-hundred per cent of executives reported being somewhat or very confident in their company's prospects for growth in the next six months.
